Live Sever Stats Graphs via Web

After playing with collectd, rrdtool and collectd frontends I thought it would be cool to have a web interface to display rrd graphs using javascript. There are a lot of collectd front ends out there, but most of them display charts using rrdgraph.

Then I came across Highcharts. I saw their dynamic data chart demo and I knew this could be used to created live graphs based on rrd data.

So I spent a night hacking away and came up with a proof of concept:
https://github.com/Druwerd/rails-highcharts

The way it works is the chart requests the rrd from a web service. That web service has access to the rrd data, reads the lastest value and passes it to the javascript chart whenever it gets a request.
